Federation supports students to ‘take flight’ for Southern Stars performances

Southern Stars — The Arena Spectacular, with Federation as its presenting partner, held its media launch in Port Kembla this week, announcing “Take flight” is the theme for this year’s show.

Over four performances in August, 3500 public school students (K–12) will come together at Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre, to perform an exciting showcase of music, dance and drama – all in front of a live orchestra.

At the launch, Federation President Henry Rajendra said: “Southern Stars is an expression of what we uphold with respect to Arts education. It is a celebration of public education and all that we achieve together.”

“Our students shine. They excel onstage and backstage. Their parents and families beam with pride from the stands. Their hard work and commitment, a lot of it drawn from their own personal time, is about upholding the importance of Arts education for our students. And that’s why we are immensely proud to continue to be the Presenting Partner of Southern Stars.” Read President Henry Rajendra’s speech here.

Since 2001, Southern Stars has been a highlight of school calendars across the state, giving students an unforgettable opportunity to share their passion for performance in front of an annual audience of more than 12,000 people.

This high-flying celebration of creativity and collaboration will take off in August 2026, with four performances to be held over Friday 28 and Saturday 29. Tickets are on sale now.
