“The diversity of our students is one of our many strengths and our Public Schools Arts Festival showcases this wonderful diversity and creativity,” Inner City Teachers Association Secretary John Gauci said.
On Friday November 6, the assocation held a virtual launch of the sixth annual Public Schools Arts Festival at the Stirrup Gallery, Addison Road Community Organisation, Marrickville. Due to current health regulations, the launch was a live streaming event where local politicians congratulated teachers and students on their amazing work.
“Our festival is a small sample of the amazing work taking place in our public schools, with artwork from kindergarten through to year 11.”
“This year’s festival includes pre-recorded choral performances, short films, photographs, sculptures, paintings, sketches, installations, digital artworks and fashion.”
The Public School Arts Festival is organised in partnership with the Addison Road Community Organisation and Drawn to Seeing.
A short documentary film about this year’s exhibition is in production and will be launched shortly.
