On Wednesday, 11 August, educators across the country will celebrate the achievements of the public TAFE system for National TAFE day.
As part of these celebrations, Federation is hosting a webinar focusing on First Nations’ students, teachers and their part in the future of TAFE.
If you’ve ever wondered what makes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education programs so successful, then tune in via the Federation website on Wednesday, 11 August, at 12 noon.
The event will be chaired by Federation’s Aboriginal Education Officer Russell Honnery and will feature Terrie Lowe from Grafton TAFE, Warwick Keen from Nowra TAFE, and Anissa Jones from Cootamundra TAFE.
The panel will discuss their personal experiences and ideas to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student engagement and access to vocational education, as well as strategies for recruiting more First Nations teachers
They will also highlight successful examples of First Nations teaching and learning programs across TAFE and discuss TAFE’s Reconciliation plan.
