TAFE Commission of NSW TAFE Managers Enterprise Agreement 2024

Vote YES

Federation recommends that members vote YES to support this Enterprise Agreement (EA) as it provides for:

  1. A nominal expiry date of 31 December 2024.
  2. An increase of 4% (based on 2023 salaries) to salaries and allowances, back-paid to om the first full pay period (FFPP) on or after 1 January 2024.
  3. Hours of work reduced from 38 hours per week to 35 hours, with no reduction to annual salaries and past accrued leave entitlements. Noting that reasonable additional hours may be required in accordance with the National Employment Standards in the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), which includes the right of TAFE Managers to refuse to work unreasonable additional hours.
  4. A new flexible working arrangements term, regarding requests for flexible working arrangements under Section 65 of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).
  5. An updated managing workplace change and consultation term in line with other TAFE NSW EAs.
  6. A new provision for TAFE Managers to have their allocated workload reviewed.
  7. Flexibility in relation to lactation breaks, including the removal of restrictions on the duration and number of lactation breaks.
  8. Provision for cashing out of excess annual leave.
  9. Capacity for TAFE Managers to purchase extra annual leave. Public holidays that fall during blocks of Purchased Leave will not be counted as purchased leave. TAFE NSW will make sure that TAFE Managers can access Purchased Leave, and will not unreasonably refuse an application for Purchased Leave.
  10. A new parental leave clause which includes several enhancements reflecting broader changes to parental leave in NSW.
