This TUT course is open to members who have been elected as Association Aboriginal Education Contacts.
Participants will work on the newly drafted role statement for Association Aboriginal Education Contacts and learn about supports for their role available from Federation.
During the course, participants will interact with the updated NSWTF Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy, and how their local Association can implement this in their local context. They will also explore the practice of acknowledgement of country and the celebration and observance of special days in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Calendar.
At the end of the course, members will develop a plan for their role and have an understanding of the structures in place to support their work in the field of Aboriginal Education.
