Beginning Teacher Conferences are aimed at members who are in their first few years of teaching. They provide teachers with essential knowledge and understanding of their entitlements and responsibilities as a teacher in NSW.

Content covered includes:

  • processes for achieving accreditation as a Proficient teacher with NESA, including the gathering of appropriate evidence and using lesson observations through the first years of teaching
  • advice for teachers already maintaining their accreditation at Proficient
  • supporting Aboriginal Education
  • differentiating the curriculum
  • classroom management
  • working conditions and entitlements.

Beginning Teachers Conferences are also an excellent way for teachers to build professional networks to support them throughout their careers.

Federation wants to give all beginning teacher members the opportunity to attend Beginning Teacher Courses and Conferences – for this reason, members can attend once only.
