This two-day course builds on skills developed in the Level 1 training, specifically different communication skills that support workplace union representative roles. Federation Representatives and Women’s Contacts who have been re-elected (for a second or subsequent year) will be given priority for this course. Other workplace committee members will be eligible to attend if space is available.
Participants will further develop skills relevant to their workplace roles including:
- exploring the purpose of union communication
- planning for recruitment and retention conversations
- practising organising conversations
- running difficult workplace meetings
- working with and using Federation media.
Members need to have completed a Level 1 Workplace Representative training course as a prerequisite. This includes the previously run course, Fundamentals for Federation Representatives and Women’s Contacts.
