This two-day course will develop fundamental knowledge and skills for Association representatives who are elected to the NSW Teachers Federation State Council. Priority will be given to Councillors elected to the position for the first time.
Key content includes:
- Understanding the rules and operations of Council meetings
- Learning about Councillors’ representative role in the union’s democratic decision-making
- Strengthening the relationship between the State Council and the local Association
- Preparing for and practising speaking in the Federation’s auditorium
Please note that attendance at the Federation Council meeting on a Saturday immediately prior to the course dates is essential. Members must be elected to council, or be attending the relevant Council as a proxy, to be eligible to apply.
