This is a two-day course aimed at developing fundamental knowledge and skills for Association representatives who are elected to the NSW Teachers Federation state council. Priority will be given to Councillors elected to the position for the first time.
Key content addressed in the course includes:
- Public speaking
- Advocacy
- Strategic planning
- Participation in democratic forums
- Effective reporting and liaison
- Effective communication
Please note that attendance at the Federation Council meeting on a Saturday immediately following, or prior to the course dates is essential, either as a Federation Councillor, Proxy Councillor or an authorised Observer. Members must be elected to council, or have attended as a proxy, to be eligible to apply.
