Women’s Conference

The conference is open to all financial women members of Federation.

When: Saturday 23 August, 2025
Where: Federation’s Conference Centre, 37 Reservoir Street, Surry Hills
Time: 8am–4pm

Theme: ’50 years of fierce’ – We’ll be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Women’s Program.

Keynote speaker: Dr Anne Summers, Professor of Domestic and Family Violence at the University of Technology of Sydney Business School (it’s also 50th Anniversary of publication of her book ‘Damned Whores and God’s Police’).

Pre-conference: There will be a breakfast session starting at 8am provided by our Teacher Services partners: Aware Super, Teachers Health and Teachers Mutual Bank. No RSVP required.

Post conference: There will be an informal networking opportunity with light refreshments provided from 4pm–6pm.

Childcare

Childcare for children up to the age of 14 can be arranged at Federation House in a creche setting.

You can attend as a:

  • Federation Funded Delegate – One delegate from each Association, who is endorsed by the Association, will be funded by the Federation centrally.
  • Association Funded Delegate – Associations are able to fund additional delegates. There is a formal process so please talk to your Association/Organiser for assistance with this.
  • Aboriginal Delegate – There is funding for Aboriginal members to attend (10) – please contact the Aboriginal Coordinator at [email protected] for more information.
  • TAFE Delegate – There is funding for TAFE members to attend (10) – please contact the Secretary of TAFE TA at [email protected] for more information.
  • Self-funded Delegate – Members can also attend as ‘self-funded’ by indicating this on the registration form. Self-funded Delegates will not be eligible for reimbursement/allowances.

Delegates that are funded by the Federation or the Association will need to have their registration form signed by the Association President or Secretary.

Special Event: Friday 22 August 2025, 5–7pmpresented by Federation’s Centre for Professional Learning (CPL)Meet History’s (In)Visible Women over a drink and snack.

In addition to Women’s Conference, this event is open to all members interested in Women’s activism and reclaiming (in)visible women in both the context of the NSW History curriculum and Federation History to learn more about the past.

It will provide a ‘social’ forum to interact with an expert panel of experienced historians and history teachers, and to network with like-minded colleagues.

Tickets are available to buy individually or for a table of eight. Each ticket will include a ‘snack box’.
