This one-day course is for Federation Representatives, Women’s Contacts and members of Federation workplace committees to build their knowledge and skills about Health and Safety in their workplace.
The course will provide participants with an overview of Health and Safety legislation and related Department of Education policies – with a particular focus on the consultation and risk management process. It will give participants the knowledge to set up health and safety structures within their workplace (work groups, Health and Safety Representatives [HSRs] and WHS committees) if this has not already been done.
Participants will also explore how to work to resolve WHS issues utilising health and safety structures as well as workplace organising.
