On Saturday 9 September, Council endorsed a Heads of Agreement that was negotiated between the Federation and the Government. This includes the withdrawal of the Government’s proposed four-year agreement imposing a 2.5 per cent per annum wage cap in years two, three and four. Securing this significant breakthrough is due to the outstanding campaigning efforts of members.

The More Than Thanks campaign over the past three and half years has delivered salary increases that have not been seen for decades.
The Heads of Agreement also includes a commitment to ongoing negotiations regarding workload, including the nature of the work and teaching loads, flexible arrangements and the right to disconnect.
A big thank you to every member who made a phone call, sent an email, spoke to individual parents, addressed P&C meetings, joined a delegation to lobby local MPs, protested and rallied against local MPs.
We will and must never forget the tens of thousands of members who took industrial action to fill Macquarie Street and so many locations across regional NSW.
