June 18 marks the start of Federation’s 100-day countdown to the anniversary of its formation 100 years ago.
Each day leading up to 26 September, we will be featuring a post on our Facebook page celebrating and commemorating all things great and small across 100 years of teacher unity.
On the eve of the centenary, we will post a Facebook poll, seeking members’ votes on the number one achievement or contribution of Federation over the 100 years, with the result posted on 26 September.
We encourage contributions from all members to this social media program — and would love to receive content from your personal collections — photographs, artefacts, newspaper clippings and the like. Please send your contribution to [email protected] and be sure to include an image and caption or story to accompany it.
For inspiration, we have included a photograph here and we are asking members to caption it with no more than 150 words.
The most entertaining caption will win a Federation Centenary Pack, featuring a commemorative coffee cup, key ring, tea towel and postcard. Send your captions to [email protected] before 5pm Friday, 6 July. The winner will be chosen by President Maurie Mulheron and published in the August edition of Education.
