TAFE members: Vote YES in enterprise agreement ballot

Federation has defended all existing working conditions for TAFE teachers and related employees during negotiations for a new enterprise agreement.

The union is recommending TAFE members to vote to accept the proposed enterprise agreement, in the ballot, which opens on Thursday 26 August and closes at 5pm on Wednesday 1 September, 2021.

The proposed agreement includes a 2.04 per cent increase in salary and allowances (back paid from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2021).

TAFE teachers and related employees would also receive the 0.5 per cent increase in the superannuation guarantee charge (employer contribution) from 9.5 per cent to 10 per cent from 1 July 2021.

Federation Deputy Secretary (Post-Schools) Phill Chadwick said union members should be congratulated for once again defending all existing working conditions.

“In these incredibly challenging times, Federation seeks the assistance of members to remind their colleagues to vote in the EA ballot and to encourage non-members to join their union,” Mr Chadwick said.

“To grow our union is to grow members’ power in the workplace.”
