Making movies

A good movie can provide some welcome relief during lockdown, so how about getting your class to make their own? Students can turn the monotony of their surroundings into fuel for their creative outlets.

A new film-making competition for K-12, “Film by The City”, will encourage your students to engage in creative thinking, storytelling, collaboration and filmmaking while they are learning at home.

“Film by the City” is a new festival for inner-city public school students, the latest addition to “Film by” festivals already held all across NSW public schools.

Entries may include genres such as documentaries, mockumentaries, stop motion, Claymation and use any medium your kids can dream.

Visit the Department’s website for the competition details and deadlines and start a fun challenge to post to your virtual classroom that covers Literacy, Digital Technologies, PDHPE, Creative Arts and much more.
