Today we celebrated 10 activists’ enduring commitment Federation, in a ceremony at Annual Conference.
Delegates conferred Federation Life Membership on Country Organiser Theo Bougatsas, former Deputy Secretary (Communications and Administration) Nicole Calnan and former Country Organiser John Pratt.
The presentation also acknowledged 2021 Life Member John Myers, and 2020 recipients Susan Armstead, Greg Blundell, Darelle Duncan, Maurie Mulheron, Kathy Nicholson and Phil von Schoenberg. Federation’s annual conference was held online in both years because of COVID restrictions, so today was the first opportunity to celebrate in person.
Throughout their careers these Life Members have advocated to achieve fair and just outcomes for teachers and public education. In doing so, they have always supported and inspired their fellow Federation members to do the same.
They join an esteemed list of activists who have previously been recognised for their devotion to protecting and improving teachers’ working conditions and salaries.
