Federation will join more than 200 other floats to celebrate this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras on Saturday 1 March. Members can apply to join Federation’s float here.
The theme for Federation’s float is “Spell It Out: Free To Bee You”, a fun pun on teachers’ work and student learning.
Float participants will dress as bees and be led down the parade route by a queen bee!
The float’s theme speaks to the potential of young people to be whoever they want to be and to develop into adults who will make an impact on the world around them. It also reiterates that queer teachers are free to be who they are and bring their whole selves to work.
