The grand opening of Federation’s new regional office at Buronga on 23 June celebrated the office’s new facilities and enhanced ability to support local teachers.
Located in the southern border town of Buronga, the new office will support teachers from 73 schools, across 13 Associations within the Far West NSW catchment area, stretching to Cobar in the north and as far as Lake Cargellico in the east.
The opening coincided with a Trade Union Training seminar, hosted by the Wentworth Teachers Association and run by Federation’s Disability Officer John Skene. This provided those in attendance with a chance to experience the office’s new dedicated facilities.
Members present on the night appeared to appreciate the office’s facilities, which provide a location to develop skills and collaborate, opportunities to access to resources, professional learning and Trade Union Training courses and seminars.
Associations in Balranald-Toolebuc, Barham, Barrier, Cobar, Coleambally, Deniliquin, Finley, Griffith, Hay, Hillston, Lake Cargelligo, Wentworth and Wilcannia, will all now have an increased ability to request a range of different courses and seminars, which can be expertly delivered by Federation Officers at the Buronga office.
