New Activist Conference

Saturday 24 October 2026 at Federation’s Conference Centre, 23-33 Mary Street, Surry Hills

This conference is aimed towards teachers in their first 5 years of teaching (10 if they currently hold a Federation position) who are interested in broadening their knowledge of the system and state-wide issues that impact teaching and learning in public schools across NSW.

The Conference will engage teachers in learning about various aspects of the school community including – Aboriginal Education, local Federation networks, LGBTIQA+ communities and more. Workshops and session will address skills to build attendees activism, and in engaging other members with important union campaigns and activities.

Each Association is entitled to send one centrally funded delegate. If your Association would like to send additional delegates, please consult your Organiser on how the Association can move a motion to support more attendees.

Members can also choose to attend as a self-funded delegate by covering their own travel and accommodation costs.

Delegates that are funded by Federation or the Association will need to have their registration form signed by the Association President or Secretary. Registrations close on Wednesday 23 September 2026.
