Principals’ Conference

Friday 22 March 2024

The 2024 Principals’ Conference will be held on Friday 22 March 2024 at Federation’s Conference Centre, 37 Reservoir Street, Surry Hills.

This year we are excited to announce our keynote will be an interactive panel titled, “Better and Fairer Education: How to get there?” featuring three key members of the Expert Panel who led the Review to Inform a Better Education System, on behalf of the Australian Government:

  • Professor Pasi Sahlberg, Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Melbourne;
  • Ms Dyonne Anderson, President of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Principals’ Association and Principal at Cabbage Tree Island Public School
  • Professor Stephen Lamb, Emeritus Professor, Centre for International Research on Education Systems, Victoria University.

The Conference will also be an opportunity to hear updates from the Federation on key policy areas, such as Work, Health and Safety, and developments in Student Behaviour policies and procedures.

There will also be an opportunity to network with Organisers and other Principals to develop strategies to address local issues.

This will be a Trade Union Training conference. Principals of TP1 and TP2 schools may request assistance for relief. It is not possible, due to the large numbers and costs involved, to provide relief for all participants. Travel and accommodation costs are covered by Federation where necessary and in line with Federation policy.

This is an important forum for principal members and Federation encourages all principals to participate, including relieving principals.
