This year’s theme is Finding Freedom.
To live without war and conflict, to feel safe from persecution, to have your basic human rights respected and to feel like you belong, so you are free to live, love and dream, that is true freedom.
The Refugee Council of Australia coordinates Refugee Week. The annual event promotes and celebrates the valuable contributions refugees make to Australian society and aims to create a better understanding between communities and to encourage greater engagement between people of different backgrounds, building cohesiveness and inclusivity.
Federation encourages all schools to work with their communities to mark this special week via celebrations, activities and education.
